What is the RSA Mentorship Program?

Karcy (Chuuk) helps a young child learn developmental skills like standing and reaching.

The National Office of Special Education in the Federated States of Micronesia worked with the Center on Disability Studies at the University of Hawaii to support RSAs who were working in the FSM from 2001-2005 through the RSA Mentorship Program. A new program, also supported by the FSM National Government is called the RSA Veterans Program and runs from 2006-2007. It includes site visits to each state, inservices, workshops, and consultation to RSAs around children they are serving. Mellanie Lee is coordinating the RSA Veterans Program (mellanie@hawaii.edu).
